Treatment for Harmful Sexual Behavior

NewPath has expertise and commitment in the treatment of harmful and unwanted sexual behaviors. We offer programmatic assistance in several areas. We have developed programs tailored to specific needs within the community to offer both court ordered treatment and client-initiated or agency referred services.
Client Initiated or Agency Referred Services:
NewPath offers services at a variety of levels and time commitments for community members seeking support with unwanted sexual behaviors. One option is to work with a therapist with specialized training to support individuals, couples or families seeking support. Another option available for unwanted sexual behaviors (primarily porn use) is group therapy.

CrossRoads is a support group for individuals who are seeking help with pornography addiction or other problematic sexual behaviors. This supportive therapy group is facilitate by mental health professionals with specialized training in problematic porn use and and other sexual behaviors. Therapy groups have a healing and transformative power, and it is our commitment to provide a therapy space where participants feel welcomed, accepted, and safe.

Court Ordered Treatments:
NewPath offers several options for those seeking court appointed support. These services involve a combination of individual therapy and group therapy sessions.

Restoration Project​

Designed to assist individuals who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviors.

2 years in length to complete - on average

2.5 hour in-person weekly group sessions co-facilitated by trained therapists

Bi-weekly individual therapy sessions

Coordination of care with probation officer

Quarterly meetings with client, therapist and probation officer

Shorter version of Restoration Project

Maximum of 18 sessions

Weekly or bi-weekly individual therapy sessions

Focus of education: healthy sexuality, boundaries, and a deeper understanding of consent

Coordination of care with probation officer

Female-focused Sex Offense Specific Treatment Program (FF-SOSTP)​

Weekly or bi-weekly individual therapy sessions

Individualized treatment program to address the distinctive mental health needs that co-present with female offenders
-
Focus of education: healthy sexuality, boundaries, and consent

2.5 hour weekly in-person group therapy

Group therapy is open to women receiving sex offender treatment in other programs.

For those joining group therapy sessions from referring therapists, coordination of care will occur with primary therapist.
